Mason and Gallagher on Vin Packer

As I mentioned in an earlier post, it's Vin Packer's b-day. Both Todd Mason and Cullen Gallagher have reviewed the work of this distinguished icon. I recommend taking a moment and checking them out.

Cullen's is well-written...mine sloppily approaches a few insights that aren't too commonly shared about (future paramours) Marijane Meaker's and Patricia Highsmith's (I mean Vin Packer's and Claire Morgan's, of course) first, somewhat similar lesbian novels...both first published in 1952. I really have to go back to rewrite it. Thanks for highlighting it.

You both run circles around anything I could even attempt to write. I learned several insights from both pieces and your essay made me reach for my Kindle to purchase Highsmith: A Romance of the 1950s.
